I am Bram Adams, and my website is the result of a Zettelkasten, which is a highly scalable and linkable system to connect real knowledge.

Welcome to my corner of the web! I appreciate you stopping by. Let me introduce myself, and explain what you see in front of you. This site (bramadams.dev) is the result of what is known as a Zettelkasten. But what is that, and why might you care?
What's a Zettelkasten, and Why Do I Want One?
In short, the Zettelkasten is a highly scalable, highly flexible, and highly linkable system to connect real knowledge. The Zettelkasten method has helped inspire the creations of wikis, as well as the tenants of hypertext on the web. The Zettelkasten method helped Niklas Luhmann, one of the most famous and prolific names in the space from the 20th century, publish prolifically -- over 50 books and 550 articles in his lifetime.
By having your own Zettelkasten, you will have a deeper understanding of the books you read and the ideas you have. In addition, through linking you will unlock the powerful aspect of emergence, the ability to use the whole in a way that is impossible with a single part. Imagine how a single cell in your body works in an entire organ system, or a single ant works in an ant hill. Ideas in isolation are like that single cell or ant, a Zettelkasten gives ideas a greater purpose through linking and remixing.
The Two Purposes of bramadams.dev
bramadams.dev serves two top level purposes. First, through tutorials, essays, and more, bramadams.dev will help you build your own Zettelkasten by taking advantage of the world's best technology, from Obsidian to CMS tools like Ghost to Artificial Intelligence APIs. You will learn about computational thinking, frameworks of thought and more.
Second, you will learn the concepts of the Zettelkasten in action. Many sites and tutorials on the internet spend time and effort only on the meta aspects of PKM. Due to that, readers never get to see a real-life working model.
I reject that notion.
This site is a real-life example of the Zettelkasten tenets in action, which you are free to explore and engage with. As I develop and fine-tune the system further you will have a front row seat to the action, and you can count on the fact that I will share both the best and the worst of the process in real time. The topics published are extremely wide ranging (check Topics on the homepage for a full list), so I hope you'll find some topic(s) you like!
Why Me?
I work at the intersection of AI, PKM, writing, programming, and content creation. I am a community developer ambassador for OpenAI, and my AI Codex app, Stenography, went #1 on Product Hunt. I have been a full-stack Software Engineer at HBO and a Developer Advocate at Algolia. My Obsidian Vault template, Bramses' Highly Opinionated Vault has helped hundreds of people get started and thrive within the Obsidian ecosystem.
Why Engage?
There are three levels of engagement, each providing additional value adds that I believe are unique:
Level 1: Follow the RSS feed by clicking the button in the menu bar. The feed serves as a chronological stream of posts. I publish zettels almost every day on a wide range of topics, from books to deep life tactics, to anime, and humorous screenplays. Each day is a surprise!
Level 2: The free tier. The free tier gives you access to map of content emails from me 1-3 times a week. These posts will teach you the core skill of what a Zettelkasten is good for -- creating novel emergent thoughts that couldn't happen otherwise to ideas in isolation.
Level 3: The paid tier. The paid tier offers you a weekly group office hour where we can talk about anything for an hour! Q/A, Code/Obsidian walkthroughs, hanging out, whatever! These calls are meant to deliver high-quality time, so they'll be focused.
